We partnered with a conglomerate focused on commodities whose businesses were hit due to antipathy created in local environment that led to antipathy in governance environment. The business leadership was focused on making operations efficient while managing the environment was the responsibility of the group office.
This arrangement was not very effective in managing local environment. Hence leadership development programs were created for senior leaders and emerging leaders to develop the capability of managing environment at unit level. They were given live strategic projects to create amicable environment in the vicinity of the operating units. Based on feedback from local communities there was significant improvement in their perception of the company.
